Returns & Refunds
Every piece from 2nd Layer is handmade and either one-of-a-kind, made to order, or commissioned to your specifications.
Custom, commissioned and made-to-order work — final sale.
Under EU and Belgian consumer law, goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised are excluded from the right of withdrawal (Art. VI.53 Belgian Code of Economic Law). These sales are final: no returns, refunds or exchanges once your order is placed.
Ready-made pieces held in stock — 14-day right of withdrawal.
If you buy an existing, non-personalised piece as a consumer, you have the right to withdraw within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason. Tell us within those 14 days using the contact details below or the model withdrawal form on our Legal notice page. Return the piece unused and undamaged, in its original packaging, within 14 days of notifying us. Return shipping is at your cost. We refund the full purchase price (including standard outbound delivery) within 14 days of receiving the returned piece, using your original payment method.
Legal guarantee.
All goods come with the statutory 2-year legal guarantee of conformity under Belgian law. If a piece is defective or not as described, contact us and we'll repair, replace or refund it as required by law, at no cost to you.
Damaged in transit.
If your piece arrives damaged, email info@2ndlayer.studio within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the item and packaging. We'll arrange a repair, replacement (where possible) or refund.
